Era Frances WALLACE was born 9/26/1916 in Bennington, Bryan County, OK, and died 11/23/2007 in El Reno, OK. She married Earl Ardell ROSS 3/29/1941.  He was the son of ? and ?. He was born ? in ?, OK, and died ? in El Reno, OK. Both are buried in Cemetery in Durant, OK.

Services will be at 10 A.M. Monday, Nov. 26, 2007 at Coffey~Murray Chapel for Era F. Ross 91, of El Reno, who passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at El Reno, Oklahoma.

The daughter of John Richmond and Dora (Coburn) Wallace, She was born on Tuesday, September 26, 1916, in Wade.

Ross, a former Durant resident, was a Charter member of Fairview Baptist Church in Durant, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. Era was a member of the Rose Garden Club of Durant, She loved to garden, travel and be with her grandchildren.

Era married Earl Ross on March 29, 1941 in Durant.

Survivors include her husband, Earl A. Ross of El Reno; son, John D. Ross and wife Carol of El Reno; four grandchildren, David Ross and wife Lori of Oklahoma City, Amy Handyside and husband Dave of El Reno, Amber Hunter and husband Bret of Oklahoma City, Matt Ross of El Reno, six great-grandchildren, Stefani, Nathan and Bradley Ross of Oklahoma City, Charitee Hansink of Oklahoma City,Joshua Handyside of El Reno and Samuel Hunter of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Opal Barnes of Denison, Texas, Alice Daniel and husband Carl of Stamford, Texas

Preceding her in death were parents John and Dora Wallace, five brothers, Chester, Ira, John and Billy Wallace; two sisters, Betty Wallace and Joy Roach.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Durant, with grandsons serving as pallbearers.


 
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Coffey-Murray Chapel for Earl Ardell Ross, 89, of El Reno, who passed away Friday, June 5, 2009, at Oklahoma City.

The son of Clarence Dale Ross and Birdie Viola (Glenn, Ross) Meade. He was born on Saturday, Oct. 11, 1919, in Utica.

Mr. Ross, a former Durant resident, was a World War II veteran. He served in the 319th Infantry 80th Division in France, Beligium and Luxemborg. He earned a Combat Infantry Badge, World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon and two Bronze Service Stars.

Earl married Era Wallace on March 29, 1941, in Durant.

Survivors include son John D. Ross and wife Carol of El Reno; four grandchildren, David Ross and wife Lori of Oklahoma City, Amy Handyside and husband Dave of El Reno, Amber Hunter and husband Bret of Oklahoma City, and Matt Ross of El Reno; and seven great-grandchildren, Stefani, Nathan and Bradley Ross of Oklahoma City, Joshua and Daniel Handyside of El Reno, and Samuel and Hazel Hunter of Oklahoma City.

Preceding him in death were his wife Era Ross, parents Clarence Dale Ross and Birdie Viola Meade, brother C.D. Ross and sister Evelyn Perkins.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Durant, with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. at the Coffey-Murray Chapel.

VFW Post 3916 will conduct military graveside services.
